White Oak Storm
Our White Oak storm is a medium to dark tone stain. It has some brown undertones, while lending itself towards the grey family. It highlights that beautiful grain patterns and character throughout, while minimizing the natural colour variation throughout the boards. It works well to bring in some warmth and cozy elements and also has the ability to look stunning in a modern environment.
Our Live Sawn is a specialty cut of wood we do which enables us to provide our clients with a very wide and unique hardwood flooring option. It is sawn using the Old World European method and incorporates all aspects of the log's character, which results in beautiful grain patterns. It is very rustic with large knots, and varying grain patterns including rift sawn and quarter sawn. A large majority of the grain is quarter sawn giving it incredible stability which is the reason we can offer it up to 10" wide. A 7" Live Sawn hardwood flooring board will shrink and expand roughly as much as a 4" plain sawn board making this floor the perfect option for a cottage. For wide plank hardwood flooring we recommend a nail and bead glue installation. The live sawn is also a perfect floor for dogs and busy households.

Customer Reviews
Purchased beautiful white oak, wide plank flooring from Gaylord for a master bedroom renovation. The materials were delivered on time, and up the stairs to the room (wow....that saved my old back). I chose to install it myself, and I would have say this easiest hardwood install I have ever done. The pieces were long, and straight, with almost perfect machining. The floor just fit perfectly together! No, pushing or prying warped boards, and almost no waste!
1/2 this floor is installed over an electrically heated low voltage system (glued and nailed), the other 1/2 more conventionally. We have been living in the renovated room for about 18 months now and the floor continues to meet our every expectation. Even our new lab puppy hasn't managed to scratch the finish.
The folks at Gaylord have been extremely helpful, and have followed up several times to ensure that we are happy with the product. I have highly recommended them to many of my friends and neighbours, resulting in 4 or 5 of them also purchasing new floors from Gaylord.
