The Presquile Stain colour was created with the help of Michael Pettes Architect for a beautiful cottage near Presqu'ile Provincial Park in Brighton, Ontario. We adapted the stain for our wide plank hickory, and find it to be an ultra versatile stain. This stain is non committal, not lending itself to either the grey or brown family. It's light enough to show off the natural colour variation in the hickory without being "too busy". It works well with both a warm and cool colour palette, and can easily work with light & dark finishes. It's a great choice if you are looking to add some warmth in your floor.

Hickory is the hardest North American wood we offer.  Its durability and unique grain pattern make it a very popular specie of wood for us.  The grain pattern is right between maple and oak making it a perfect compromise for people who want the timeless charm of oak but prefer something not quite as busy.
