Sucupira is also known as Brazilian Wild Walnut. It is a native wood of Brazil, and comes from managed forests. Sucupira’s heartwood is a medium or dark to reddish brown with fine lighter coloured stripes. Its sapwood is distinct, whitish or yellowish to cream. Sucupira is a very durable wood and much harder than most domestic species, matching the Janka Hardness of Hickory.
