White Oak Flooring
This flooring is plain sawn white oak but in our country grade which is going to be quite rustic and the appearance will mimic our Live Sawn White Oak. The grain will be more open and the flooring itself will be less stable with changes in relative humidity but will still showcase board lengths up to 10 feet. This flooring is available in any of our White Oak stains.
Plain sawn is the most commonly used method of sawing lumber. It is achieved by turning the log to cut the clearest edge providing a very open grain which is typically associated to a traditional red oak floor. The grain is very open and runs across the width of board between a 0-35 degree angle. Since wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, the plain sawn moves across the width of the board making it the least stable method of sawing lumber when compared to our plain sawn and live sawn White Oak.
