Hickory hardwood flooring is reddish brown in color with dark brown. The sapwood tends to have a creamy white color, with light brown streaks. Hickory accounts for less than 4% of the North American hardwood production, which makes it not so common in hardwood flooring. Since it is so dense, you would need harder tools and manufacturing machinery. However, the durability makes it extremely desirable.

Janka Hardness: 1820
