This December, Gaylord Hardwood Flooring is bringing their showroom to the Ottawa area — permanently. "We've been working in Ottawa for quite a while; I've been actively involved with the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association for six or seven years," explained Greg Gaylord, Sales Manager at Gaylord Hardwood Flooring. While the company has toured with their mobile showroom, including the Home & Design Show at the end of September, Gaylord says they’re excited to be setting up a long-term location. "There are builders in the Ottawa area who know and love our product, but they’ve told us that our main showroom [in Tweed] is too far." Located near Merivale and W. Hunt Club Road (1843 Merivale Road), across the parking lot from Costco, the new showroom will also be close to other flooring stores for those who want to compare. "We aim to provide a showroom experience people won’t find anywhere else," Gaylord said, noting that the typical flooring store has displays for multiple manufacturers with multiple products, and small samples that make it hard to envision the final results. “Looking at so many options can be really confusing, and it can be hard to get a good feel for what you can actually expect. "We have a high-end product, and our showroom really draws attention to the unique beauty of our flooring," he said. "An open showroom will showcase our designs, patterns and borders. We’ll have some furnished areas set up, and along the walls there will be eight-foot-long sample boards." Gaylord Hardwood Flooring takes pride in the long board lengths the company is known for, which Gaylord explains is a tribute to their commitment to quality as well as their oversight of the whole production process. “We really pride ourselves on our long board length, which is a foot-and-a-half longer than our competitors. You can’t show that difference with small samples,” he said. The main showroom in Tweed has previously been recognized for excellence for both product and service; in five of the past six years, the company has won a SAMMY award for best showroom from the Greater Ottawa Home Builder’s Association. That reputation is a lot to live up to, but Gaylord says the Ottawa location won’t disappoint. “It’s smaller so it’s not quite the same, but I’m confident that it will show our product equally well.” The Ottawa location is expected to open in early- to mid-December; connect with us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest details.
